Having launched Phoenix Legal Services in 2003, Stephen has become a hugely authoritative and respected figure across the legal costs industry. Stephen has worked in costs since 1986 and is a qualified Costs Lawyer with a wealth of experience in all aspects of costs law. Before focusing on the growth of the company, Stephen was regularly instructed on large and technical costs recovery matters and was well known for achieving excellent results with gold standard customer care.

Stephen has been an integral part of the growth and running of the Association of Costs Lawyers, where he is currently vice-chair. This role and his wealth of experience means he is a regular speaker at industry events and is asked to provide his opinion and insight for press articles. As an accredited trainer for the ACL, Stephen is adept at providing all aspects of training for his staff and clients, ensuring they are up to date with the latest case law and best practice.

As the figurehead for the firm, Stephen is responsible for the strategic issues affecting the company but remains always on call for any client needs.
